Remote Internships at the World Values Survey Association
The World Values Survey Association invites interested students and young post-graduate researchers to apply for a Remote Internship at the WVSA Secretariat. Application is open to students of different specialities related to Social Sciences and Humanities (Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Psychology, Anthropology, International Relations, Urban Studies, Regional Studies, Demography, Statistic etc.). Social Research should be understood broadly, including its different stages and components such as fundraising, research planning and design, research implementation, findings dissemination, organization of events, publications, including social media and other sources.
Remote Internship is a volunteer (unpaid) feasible contribution to the WVSA activities of 2-8 hours per week (or more – depending on the applicant’s preferences) organized from the applicant’s place of residence/ study. Internships are possible for the period of 1 month and 3 months (prolongation possible). Depending on the applicant’s speciality, expertise and interests, the scope of tasks would include: literature search and literature review; elaboration of the questionnaire completion manuals and codebooks; work with sample design plans; translation of materials; completion of the indicators data-base; search of potential new survey teams; assistance with planning and preparation of meetings and events etc.
As WVSA is a non-profit research foundation, Remote Internship does not give a possibility for the future employment at the WVSA. Remote Internship does not guarantee direct involvement into the research activities in the applicant’s country.
Upon the successful completion of the Remote Internship, all applicants receive a Certificate of Internship from the WVSA and a Letter of Recommendation from the WVSA President for your future studies, job or other activities.
Interested applicants should send their CV and an expression of interest describing your expertise (including language proficiency), your interests as well as your expectations from the Internship and what kind of activities you think you can contribute to. All materials should be submitted in English to wvsa.secretariat@gmail.com. Applications will be considered on the rolling basis, there is no deadline for the submission.
